The Ravalli County 911 Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is staffed by 2 to 4 dispatchers at a time. The Ravalli County 911 Center is enhanced 911 Phase II Wireless, and narrowband compliant.

When fully staffed, the center has 13 full time operators on staff. Operators work a minimum of 40 hours a week.

Dispatchers undergo at least 6 months of training, as well as attending the Montana Law Enforcement Academy for the Public Safety Communicator Basic Course, becoming certified with the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) and multiple certifications offered by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO). Along with ongoing training, we maintain EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) and PST (Public Safety Telecommunicator) certifications. All Dispatchers must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and complete ongoing, continuing education.

Along with answering both Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for assistance from the Public, we dispatch 11 Fire Departments, 5 Emergency Medical Services, 5 Law Enforcement agencies, Search and Rescue, as well as numerous other State, Federal, Local, and Private entities.
